Staffing Changes

Dear Parents and Carers,

Firstly, welcome back all of our staff, pupils and parents/carers to Ninian Park and may I extend a big welcome to all of our new pupils and parents/carers. I hope that you have all enjoyed the summer break.

There have been a lot of changes in school during the summer and I would like to take this opportunity to update you.

During the holidays Mrs Davies made the decision to retire from her post as Head teacher of Ninian Park Primary School.  She began her retirement on 31st of August this year.  Mrs Davies would like to wish everyone associated with the school every success for the future.  I am sure you will join all of the staff at Ninian Park, The Governing Body and Cardiff Council in thanking Mrs Davies for her contributions and tireless devotion to Ninian Park Primary School. We wish her the very best for the future, She will be sorely missed.

The schools new Deputy Head Teacher, Miss Scott, has accepted the post of Acting Head Teacher until the Governing body recruit a new and permanent Head teacher.

Miss Scott has a proven track record as a Deputy Head teacher and Acting Head teacher at Broad Heath Primary School in Coventry, which is a very similar school to Ninian Park Primary School.

I am sure you will all welcome Miss Scott and support her and the staff at the start of this academic year.

We have a number of vacancies on our governing body for parent/ governors.  If you are interested in becoming a parent/ governor please contact me via the school.

We have had some building work completed over the summer holiday period in our infant building and this will be completed by the beginning of next week. We will continue to make improvements over the course of this year.

We are keen to involve parents more in the work and life of the school, if you have any skills, talents or abilities and feel that you could be useful to the school, please talk to Miss Scott or myself about becoming a volunteer.

We will be implementing a new positive behaviour policy this term called “Good to be Green.” Miss Scott will be sending out information to parents regarding this exciting development over the next few weeks and we would like you to ask your children about the scheme and how it works.

We look forward to working with you over the coming year and would like to thank you for your continued support.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further information.

Yours Sincerely

Cllr Ashley Govier
