As you will be aware we are taking part in the Active Travel scheme. Next week we are challenging the pupils, parents, friends and staff to join the nation's Big Pedal event. You can find out more about this 5 day event at https://bigpedal.org.uk/

All schools will be entered into daily prize draws for rewards if over 15% of the school cycle, walk, wheel or scoot on each day of the challenge. Prizes up for grabs include accessories and equipment to help the school travel actively. Active journeys from home with a family member and physical challenges completed at home will also count towards the 15% when pupils are learning remotely.

If you want your child to take part there is an optional record sheet you can use attached to this announcement. Otherwise your child can let your child's teacher know each morning, when they complete their Active Travel Survey in class. The school will add up all our Big Pedal participants each day and add them onto the portal, where you can see how our school is doing compared to everyone else around the UK at www.bigpedal.org.uk

Please do not worry if you are unable to take part in this activity. It is purely optional and offered as a healthy, fun activity.  We do not want this to add any stress to family life.
