Our school is moving from 3 form to 2.5 form entry. This means that we now have some mixed classes (for example, a class with Year 1 and Year 2 pupils in it). Pupils in mixed year group classes are selected based on a range of criteria, including social relationships, confidence, emotional wellbeing and behaviour. Academic ability is not the main factor when organising classes. Our priority is to create balanced classes where pupils feel happy, secure and able to learn. Staff work closely together to ensure that learning is carefully planned to meet the needs of all pupils, regardless of their year group, and to support strong progress for every child.  All of our teachers plan learning based on each child’s individual needs and next steps, ensuring that every pupil is appropriately supported and challenged, regardless of the year group they are in.
